Settlement would resolve data-sharing claims
People who used the GoodRx website, app or service before April 20, 2024, may qualify for compensation under a proposed $32 million settlement. The agreement would resolve claims that GoodRx shared users’ health information with third parties through tracking tools.
The allegations were made in a 2023 complaint. Plaintiffs claimed that technology on GoodRx’s website and app transmitted information about users’ health conditions and medications to advertising partners without their consent. The complaint says the alleged conduct violated multiple state laws.
GoodRx is a prescription price comparison and telehealth service. The companies identified in the claims include Meta, Google and digital advertising firm Criteo. GoodRx has not admitted wrongdoing. It agreed to the settlement to resolve the allegations.
Court filings say information from roughly 54.8 million people was shared through GoodRx’s tracking tools. The proposed agreement would resolve claims against GoodRx and Criteo if the court grants final approval. Claims against Meta and Google are continuing separately, according to Open Class Actions.
